# Privacy Policy for TimeWise

**Last Updated:** January 3, 2026

TimeWise ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle your data when you use the TimeWise Android application.

### 1. Information We Collect
* **User Identifiers:** We use Firebase Anonymous Authentication to create a unique User ID (UID). This does not include your name, email, or phone number.
* **App Usage Data:** We collect information about how much time you spend on other apps and how many times you unlock your phone to provide your screen time statistics and "Year-End Wrapped" features.

### 2. How We Use Data
We use the collected data solely to:
* Provide and maintain the TimeWise service.
* Generate your personalized screen time reports and "Streaks."
* Improve app performance and debug errors.

### 3. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore). We utilize industry-standard encryption to protect your data in transit and at rest.

### 4. Data Retention and Deletion
Since we use Anonymous Authentication, your data is tied to your device.
* **In-App Deletion:** You can delete all your data and your account via the "Settings" menu in the app.
* **Manual Request:** You may request data deletion by contacting us at [Your Support Email].

### 5. Third-Party Services
We use Firebase (a Google service) for authentication and data storage. Please refer to Google’s Privacy Policy for more details.

2. Data Deletion Request Form Text

Google requires a web-based way for users to request deletion. You can set up a simple Google Form and use this text for the description:

Title: TimeWise - Data Deletion Request

Description:

Use this form to request the deletion of your TimeWise account and all associated screen time data.

Important Note: If you are using an Anonymous Account and have uninstalled the app, we may not be able to identify your specific data without your unique User ID.

Required Information:

  1. Your Firebase User ID (Found in TimeWise Settings > Account).
  2. Reason for deletion (Optional).
  3. Once submitted, we will process your request and delete all records from our Firestore database within 7 business days.

3. Play Console “Data Safety” Checklist

When you fill out the Data Safety form in the Console, use these exact settings for TimeWise:

  • Is all of the user data collected by your app encrypted in transit? Yes.

  • Do you provide a way for users to request that their data is deleted? Yes.

  • Data Types Collected:

    • Identifiers: User ID (for Firebase Auth).

    • App Activity: App interactions (for screen time tracking).

  • Data Usage:

    • Check “App Functionality” (the app needs this to show stats).

    • Check “Analytics” (to help you grow to 10k users).

Pro-Tip for your Obsidian Setup

I recommend creating a folder named App Management in Obsidian and keeping a sub-folder for Play Store Assets. This makes it easy to copy-paste these descriptions every time you push an update for TimeWise.
